In truth, not a lot of features are availed, but this should not come as a surprise considering that these phones are in fact free. You get things such as call waiting, voice mail and caller ID. Other features may be availed, but they are usually associated with low end phones.
Government phones are free in every sense of the word. That in other words means that there will be no contracts to sign, no monthly bills, and no fees to expect. You simply get a phone with preloaded minutes, and enjoy being connected to your close acquaintances. You dont get a lot of minutes though, since most of the time you get two hours of talk time per month, give or take. This suggests that only important calls should be made.
There are some rules associated with government phones. The most important one is that of canceling your application ones your financial standing changes. This is often pointed out during the annual verification procedure. The phone remains in your possession, and you can use it in any way you see fit.
